Gather at The Copperhead Lodge to experience a cooking demonstration with Sheri Castle. Chances are, you have one of her books in your cookbook collection! She has written under her own name and has ghost written for others. Her Southern Spirit shines in all she does. We are pleased that she will join us to demonstrate preparation and techniques for our new spring menu that she has designed for The Flying Trout! Fresh ingredients, Thoughtfully sources and always delicious!

Dueling Pianos Comedy & Music All in One!!
Dueling Pianos makes their Blairsville debut at The Flying Trout at The Copperhead Lodge. Comedy meets music for a raucous good time! 52nd Annual Helen to The Atlantic Balloon Race
The South’s oldest balloon event and the United States’ only long distance hot air balloon race will begin (weather permitting) with a mass ascension of around 20 bright and colorful hot air balloons, in North Georgia’s Alpine Village – Helen. Race competitors and local flyers will take to the sky at 7:00 am, Thursday, June 5th, 2025. If the weather conditions are too windy or storms are forecast, the take off will be postponed until conditions are acceptable.
While the competition to the Atlantic continues, other balloonist compete in local events beginning Thursday evening around 6:00 pm. Local flying events will take place also on Friday and Saturday. The balloons will fly around 7:30 am and 6:00 pm each day (weather permitting). The balloons will only fly for around 1 to 2 hours. There will be many opportunities available to the public; assisting with the inflations, being a part of a chase crew or taking a tethered ride in a balloon. There will be approximately 20 balloons flying locally

Join us on the lawn as Classic Cars & Trucks Converge at The Lodge. All vehicles are invited and there’s no entry fee! Registration begins at 9am and Awards Ceremony is at 3:30.

Chilean Wine are featured at our next wine dinner!
We are so happy that Chilean wine expert Andres will be visiting The Copperhead Lodge on Tuesday, March 4th and bringing a selection of wines for us to sample. Our chef is preparing a menu curated to compliment each of the wines and we will gather together for a pairing dinner at 6pm in front of our crackling fire to enjoy good food, good wine and good people!

Mountain Gypsies Live
Curtis Jones reins as one of the most highly-respected flatpicking guitarist on the planet. Expanding on a legacy forged by musicians such as David Gilmour, Pat Metheny, Paco De Lucia, Doc Watson and Tony Rice, Jones is often called by fans and critics alike, “The World’s Fastest and Cleanest” acoustic guitarist.
Kim Jones is an artist, singer, and song-writer. Her vocal influences growing up were Wynonna Judd, Patty Loveless, Janice Joplin, Bobbie Gentry, Bonnie Raitt, and Stevie Nicks. Her Musical influences include Jaco Pastorious, Richard Wright, Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, and Mccoy Tyner. She plays upright Bass and sings with the Mountain Gypsy duo as well as occasional keyboard.
