Dry January at The Lodge!
It is January in the Blue Ridge. The air is thin, the light is a slate color, and the holiday roar has subsided into a contemplative, crystalline silence. You may be embarking on a ‘Dry January’ as a personal challenge, a way to drop those holiday pounds, (or something personal that we don’t need to know about!)
Felicity and Kota have just the thing! Our full Mocktail menu will set you on your path - and keep you there.
Try our Mountain Citrus Spiced Hot Tea, Kota’s Mockarita, Fil’s Famous Apple Cider . . . No blurred edges. No morning regrets. Just the mountains, the quiet, and a glass of something that knows its way home through the mountain passes.
Available through January. See you at the trailhead.

Outside, the cold is relentless. Inside, we fuse sight, sound, and flavor for a warmth that no hearth can match. It is, quite frankly, the best way to endure a Tuesday in February.
We are curating a multi-course dinner presented around the major life shifts for Frances in our featured movie, Under the Tuscan Sun. Prepare yourselves for a feast of the eyes and taste buds!
Special Valentine's Dinner Show - Michael Hulett
Bring your Valentine or your family, or your friends for Dinner and enjoy the songs and saxophone stylings of Michael Hulett. The man is a musical chameleon, a single artist containing multitudes. The Smooth sound of his voice begins like a whisper in the dark, and transforms throughout the evening from warm, comforting velvet to bold, brazen silk, calling you to the dance floor . Come for the evening, or stay for the night at The Lodge.
Valentine’s stay & play packages available. Call our front desk! Enjoy dinner and a show (either Friday or Saturday night) and stay in one of our cabins with hot tub here at The Resort.
Special February Chef's Pairing Dinner with MOOK & MIMI Live!
Valentine’s Day is in the rear view mirror. Outside, it's the kind of cold that doesn’t just nip at your nose—it bites. The wind howls like a jilted lover, but inside, the air is warm with the scent of hickory in the fireplace and something far more delicious. It's the beginning of an evening that doesn't just happen - it unfolds.
Mook & Mimi are in the room playing something haunting — maybe just the sound of a heart breaking and mending itself in the span of a single note.
The first wine arrives. Paco & Lola.
The bottle sits there, defiant in its polka dots, a splash of Spanish sunshine on a wintery night. One sip and you know it's the start of a delicious evening. The taste of green apples and a zesty citrus finish that could cut through even the most stubborn mountain chill.
We pair it with a ceviche of local rainbow trout. The acidity of the Albariño dances with the richness of the fish like two spies meeting on a crowded dance floor. Love is in the air. Love of food, love of life, just love.
Dueling Pianos
The audience creates the show. They clap. They sing. They dance. It’s a marathon of musical comedy,
You’re sure to hear ‘Sweet Caroline’ & ‘Piano Man’ but you actually decide the play list! Join us for our monthly event.
Ray LaBean Returns!
Known here at The Lodge for his innovative style and surprising Mandolin solos, Ray LaBean’s songs and ballads are the perfect accompaniment for dinner at The Lodge.
2nd Annual Polar Plunge! Call to Register! 706-835-7433
Outside The Copperhead Lodge the pool water holds the deep, unnatural blue of a frozen arctic channel. Steam rises from it like a shared breath. The challenge is simple: in and out. A bracing shock to the system that clears the mind of modern trivialities and reminds you that you are, in fact, alive. It's a testament to the vibrant spirit, a quick dip in the frigid waters that makes the warmth of the lodge, the brandy by the fire, the thick wool socks, feel earned.
This isn’t for everyone. . . Some prefer the toasty world of hot tubs . . . This is for the ones who know a little bit of discomfort makes the comfort all the sweeter. For the brave (or perhaps just the foolhardy!) who like facing the cold head-on!
Join us. The water's waiting. Post-Plunge Hot chocolate or Hot Toddies anyone? Pick your Charity - Cast-Off Pet Rescue or Habitat For Humanity Thrift - Your $60 entrance fee will help people and pets in need!
Gregg Erwin is Outlaw Country at The Lodge
The fire warms the Lodge, you sip a glass of something to warm the soul, and Gregg Erwin’s Outlaw Music tells stories of heartbreak, lawlessness and life on the road sung with a style that echoes the working-class struggles of these hills. The music bridges the gap between traditional country and folk lyrics . Everything here—the music, the wood-paneled walls, the distant howl of the wind will take you back to the honky tonk days of Waylon, Willie and The Boys!
Don’t Miss Jonah Pierce
Jonah Pierce Premiers his Soulful Country and Americana Music - the sound of lost time, first loves and dusty country roads.
It is as authentic as the Appalachian mountains themselves, where music dances in the wind and blends with the scent of pine, a quiet, soulful reminder of simpler times.

5 Course Chef's Pairing Dinner
Winter in the Blue Ridge. A mist so thick you could carve your name in it. You’re shivering - until you step inside the log fire heated lodge with it’s smell of burning hickory and aged oak.
It’s primal - Dinner is on the table. It’s home.
Then, the collision: A Napa Valley Cabernet — bold, unapologetic, with the structure of a suspension bridge—shaking hands with a bowl of venison chili. It shouldn’t work. It’s a tuxedo at a barn dance. And yet, it’s magnificent.
Next, a buttery Sonoma Chardonnay, glistening like sunlight on the ocean, paired with pimento cheese grits. The elegance of the coast meets the soul of the soil. It’s a bridge across a continent.
No pretense. No tiny portions. Just honest food, sophisticated grapes, and the heavy silence of the mountains. It’s the dinner you didn’t know you needed, in a place you’ll never want to leave.
Limited Seating, please let us know you plan to visit!

A curated selection of acoustic melodies, perfect for dinner on a rural evening. Music that evokes wide-open spaces and the quiet rattle of a screen door in the wind.

National Hot Toddy Day - A Day Early!
January 11. 1924? 1952? 2026? It doesn't matter.
The air in the Blue Ridge doesn’t just get cold; it gets personal. It’s a damp, bone-deep chill that settles into your marrow while you’re tracking a stray scent or simply watching the fog swallow the hickories. You need more than a fire. You need a legend in a glass.
Scottish doctors in the 1700s called it a "cure-all". In the 1920s, a certain Dr. Todd prescribed it for the soul as much as the sinuses. Here at The Lodge we call it survival.
We start with a bourbon that’s spent more time in charred oak than most people spend in school. Add a dollop of honey from a neighbor who keeps bees and secrets in equal measure - Thanks David. A squeeze of lemon. A cinnamon stick for authority. It’s served in a mug heavy enough to anchor you to the porch while the world swirls around you.
We're Being Struck by Lightning 2!
Sing-Along Pop, Rock & Country Favorites! One moment, it’s the driving, rhythmic pulse of heartland rock that makes you want to put the top down on the '65 convertible. The next, a country lament so pure it could make a statue weep, followed by a pop anthem that possesses the uncanny ability to turn a room of strangers into a choir of old friends. It is music without pretense—unfiltered, infectious, and melodic!
Mook & Mimi Appear Live at The Lodge!
They don't just sing; they collide in captivating harmonies—a high-wire act performed without a net. When their voices lock, it’s the sound of two souls trading stories. It’s raw. It’s emotive. Together they are the antidote to the mundane.
It’s the kind of music that makes you want to tap your toe, get up and dance, and let go!
A Cross Atlantic New Year’s Eve Countdown! Elton John Tribute meets Jeff Rogers Band!

Then 9 - midnight Dance the night away with our Elton John tribute. Ring in the New Year with us!
New Year's Eve Early Dinner With Jeff Rogers Band
We open the evening with the talented musicians of The Jeff Rogers band playing through early dinner celebrating Americana music as it should be.
This is the music of unvarnished truth. It’s what you listen to when the wind is howling through the screen door and you have nowhere else to be. It’s honest. It’s weathered. Not that shiny, Nashville kind of country music with rhinestones and perfect hair. It’s something deeper. Something gnarled. It’s a bit of the blues picked up in Memphis, a touch of Appalachian bluegrass, and a rhythm that feels like a steam engine crossing the plains.

We’re Going to Spain (In Spirit)! Chef’s Dinner with Optional Wine Pairing
We’re going to Spain!!! (In spirit)
Join us for our monthly Chef’s Dinner with optional wine pairings! You could try to recreate it, but you really HAVE to be here for the convergence of cultures as unlikely as a flamenco dancer at a square dance - the lingering taste of wood smoke and Spanish wine will take you on a journey where the flavors of Spain find a home here in the quiet Appalachian mist at The Copperhead Lodge.
Start with Tapas - a parade of small miracles - Jamon Iberico, sliced so thin it nearly dissolves on the tongue, with it’s acorn laden flavor a salty prelude to the evening. Suckling Pig, roasted low and slow in the wood-fired oven. The skin, a crackling symphony, giving way to meat so tender it seems to surrender to the fork. A robust Granacha that speaks of old vines and sun-baked earth. Or perhaps a deep brooding Rioja Reserva, its stone fruit and cherry notes holding their own against the rich pork.
The Conversation flows as freely as the wine at our Chef’s dinners. By the time the Crema Catalana arrives, you’ll know it’s about friends enjoying time together over good food and drink.
Live Music-Cody King
Join us in the dining room with Cody King for some live music and a good time!
Always a crowd favorite, Cody King returns to the lodge with his country. It’s sure to be a party!
Christmas Cookies & Story Time with Santa - Bring the Kids!
Gather in the great room, the nostalgic scent of pine and peppermint in the air. Cookies, abundant, imperfectly shaped stars and trees, each one carrying the quiet dignity of a simpler time, a time before high-fructose corn syrup and mass production. And then, he appears! The Old Man himself, not in a rented beard, but a man who’s eyes truly twinkle with love for the season. He sits by the fire, the flames dancing in his eyes. He speaks, not of commercial goods or holiday sales, but of a quiet workshop, of simple wooden toys, of reindeer with names that sound like the wind whistling through the trees. For a short time, the cynicism of the modern world melts away like butter on a hot biscuit. An experience you cannot purchase in a store, but one that occasionally, if you are lucky, finds you. Put on your Christmas Jammies and join us! A perfect time for us ALL to be KIDS AGAIN!

Patsy Cline Tribute!!!
In 1961, she walked into a studio and, despite a cracked rib from a car accident, laid down a track written by a young, unknown Willie Nelson. It was simple, aching, and honest. It became "Crazy." A timeless classic, an anthem for anyone who's ever loved someone just a little too much.
Now, you have a chance to step back, if just for a few hours, to that era of big hair, steel guitars, and voices that told the truth.
An evening in Nashville, a dining room bathed in the soft, amber glow of a time gone by. A meticulously curated dinner, featuring Texas BBQ brisket and other inspired fare, with a tribute performance that channels the authentic spirit and powerful vocals of Patsy Cline herself. Not an imitation, but an evocation. The songs you know and love: Walkin' After Midnight, Sweet Dreams, and, of course, Crazy.
